Don't miss out on this great summer opportunity......
After the successful SWS tournament last year in Hamburg. We are pleased to say this years tournament will take place in Rouen between the 22nd -25th August 2025.
We are aiming to take 3 teams this year to Rouen, U16 Boys, U16/18 Girls and U18 Boys.
SWS stands for Sebastian Wolff Stiftung and is a foundation created by Hinrich and Doni Wolff in memory of their late son Sebastian. Sebastian went from his home in Hamburg to Rouen in France in 2000 to study and play hockey. He was financed by another hockey foundation. Then in 2002 after tragic car accident whilst in Rouen, Sebastian lost his life. His parents Hinrich and Doni decided to create a Hockey foundation to honour his memory.
The tournament is between 3 clubs EGHC, Flotbek (Hamburg) and Rouen (France). It has now been running for 23 years! A true testament to how successful this Junior tournament has been.
The idea of the weekend is to build friendships with those from a different background and nationality but having hockey as the common denominator and finding common ground in the sport we all love.
Once there, the children will be placed in groups of 2 or more with host families for the weekend to help aid these friendships.
This is a fabulous opportunity to build international friendships, experience different cultures, clubs & hospitality.
If you would like to register your child's interest please join the what's app group from the community and or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Some EGHC attendee quotes from last year:
- "I wanted to say how great a time Lily had. She loved it and the family were so welcoming. She's kept in touch with her host family, so there's a success straight away".
- "Thank you all for the amazing trip . Emmy loved it and has asked if she can go next year already"!
