A successful few days in Canterbury for a weekend of Indoor!

Six medals, including two golds, for East Grinstead's junior teams at the opening Indoor Hockey UK event of the season.

With over 70 players representing the club across eight teams, EG demonstrated the strength and depth of its junior indoor programme, returning home with an impressive six medals: two gold, three silver and one bronze.

Across all age groups, there were some outstanding individual and team performances, with plenty of encouraging signs as the club looks ahead to a busy indoor season.

Our U12 Girls got the weekend off to a flying start on Saturday morning, producing a series of convincing performances to win five of their six matches.

The girls played some excellent attacking hockey, controlling large periods of their matches and demonstrating impressive technical ability throughout the tournament.

Particularly strong performances against Hockey Mentors and Hawks helped secure a thoroughly deserved gold medal, providing the perfect start to the club's weekend.

This set up a highly anticipated final against Hockey Mentors, played in front of a large crowd. In a closely contested encounter, EG led 2–1 heading into the closing moments, only to concede a penalty corner after the final hooter.

Hockey Mentors converted to level the scores and force a shootout, eventually edging the contest on shuffles to claim gold.
