Congratulations Tess Howard

Tess-Howard-Award

From all of us at EGHC we would like to Congratulate Tess Howard on winning the Changemaker Award at the Sunday Times Sportswomen of the Year Awards ceremony on Thursday evening. This award recognises individuals that have inspired others and have therefore used their own platforms to create change.

Tess had successfully led a campaign for the change in female sports kits. This was after research had shown that many women and young girls stop playing as a result of issues with their sports clothing.

The Sportswomen of the Year awards, now in their 36th year, have led the way in recognising and celebrating the outstanding contribution made to sport by women at all levels, from elite to grassroots and community-wide.

England Hockey changed the domestic regulations in September 2022 and earlier this year Nick Pink, alongside the women's team, wrote to the FIH and requested a review of the international kit regulations.

As part of her acceptance speech she thanked her teammates & England Hockey, detailing that they had achieved something special over the summer and highlighted that choice is everything.

Again from all of us at EGHC, huge congratulations Tess.
