A weekend of two halves

Over the weekend of October 21st and 22nd, EG's 1st Team Women and Men had a mixed set of results.  Click through for more...

Saturday October 21st saw our Women and Men host Surbiton and Holcombe respectively; both sides flying high in the England Hockey Premier Leagues.

Prior to the match, the club learned of the passing of David Sumpter, a much loved senior member of the club; a former player, volunteer, official and supporter who's involvement with EG can be traced back to the 1970s.  More information will follow.

EG's women suffered a defeat to Surbiton with the final score at 1:4.  East Grinstead's goal scored from a corner by Laura Roper.

EG Men suffered a loss to Holcombe Men with the final score at 1:7.  East Grinstead's goal also scored from a corner by Daniel Faulkner.

Sunday October 22nd however presented opportunities to immediately bounce back, and both sides did that with wins against Hampstead and Westminster away.  EG Women secured a 5:1 win with goals from Balsdon (2), Bray, Howard and Anna Moore.  EG Men secured a 1:0 win with a goal from Josh Gravestock.
