Regionals are incoming for our Junior teams after a stellar Sunday...

Sussex In2Hockey Regional Qualifiers 2026

This past Sunday 13 EG teams, including over 100 players, 6 professional coaches and an army of managers/ parent volunteers made the trip to Hurstpierpoint College for the annual In2Hockey Sussex tournament - the biggest day in the Sussex junior calendar.

Having entered the most teams of any club at the tournament, hopes were incredibly high for our teams in what turned into a great day for East Grinstead Hockey Club.

U10 Girls Cup: 2nd (regional qualification).

U10 Girls Plate: 1st and 3rd

These girls produced their best hockey when it mattered most! Their dedication and commitment has been rewarded. The Cup team secured the 4 points needed to finish second, and our EG Plate teams played some amazing hockey finishing as tournament top goal scorers with both

teams finishing in the top 3 places! Well done girls!

U10 Boys Cup: 1st and 2nd (regional qualification)

With no Plate competition, all three of our U10B teams were entered into the Cup. EG1 and EG3 both finished top of their groups with 100% win records! Shoutout to our EG2 team who, with a number of U8s, won two of their matches! Amazingly our EG1 and EG3 teams did not concede a single goal! Fantastic work boys!

U12 Girls Cup: 1st (regional qualification)

U12 Girls Plate: 1st

Our U12 Girls Cup team played some of the best U12 hockey ever seen at a Sussex In2Hockey event, scoring 20 goals and conceding just one on their way to first place! We had two teams in the U12 Girls Plate, with EG1 finishing in first having won all their matches and not conceding a goal, and EG2 playing their best hockey of the season to finish a brilliant 5th out of 12 teams. The journey this age group has been on in the last 12 months has been phenomenal, the club is incredibly proud to have seen them win the Cup and the Plate competition. It was lovely to see the Cup Girls go support the Plate girls in their final at the end of the day.

U12 Boys Cup: 2nd (regional qualification)

U12 Boys Plate: 1st

The U12 Boys Cup team managed to finish 2nd place in a high quality tournament, winning four of their five matches they now progress to regionals with plenty more to come! Three EG teams entered into the Plate competition with all our players great representatives of the club and playing some brilliant hockey in the process. EG1 came away with the gold medal to cap off a brilliant day for the club.

This meant that EGHockey won five of the seven tournaments on offer, but not only that - the players attitude and spirit in the pouring rain made everyone very proud. Thank you to the army of supporters who spurred the teams on despite the wet and windy conditions!

Special mention to our brave goalkeepers who supported multiple teams throughout the day! Huge thank you to all our professional coaches, managers and volunteer parents - this success would not happen without your hard work.

Proud day to be a Grinner.
