On Sunday January 14th, EG's U18 girls competed in a day long competition at the culmination of the Indoor season. Led by Theo Dowse (Head Coach), Sophie Mills (Manager) and Ben Barden (Assistant Coach), the group played some exceptional indoor hockey throughout.
The squad included:
Rochelle Peacock-Munns (GK), Charlotte Watkins, Summer Knight-Thompson, Lizzie Hastings, Biba Mills, Connie Pennington, Lilian de Bruin (GK), Liv Breed, Anna Faulstich (c), Alice Wood, Betsy Burden and Talya Harvey.
The competition was made up of three group games, a cross-over semi final and a final.
In the group games, the team secured wins against Bowdon (5:0), Marlow (5:1) and Cambridge City (4:2). The semi final which followed saw East Grinstead secure a 5:0 win against Surbiton U18 Girls.
At the end of the long day, EG played Clifton in the final and secured the title with a 5:1 win.
Most pleasing throughout the day was the evidence of really strong team work, a lovely balance of structured indoor hockey with attacking flare at key points and the close friendships and supportive culture within the group.
