Thankyou Mary, Tony and Jason

With the dust nearly settled on the 2021/2022 Season its time to say thankyou and farewell to our Ladies' 1st Team Coaching and Management group.  Click through to read more...

After many years leading EGHC Ladies, taking the group from the South Division 2 league in 2010 all the way to the England Hockey Premier League via the promotion playoffs in April 2015, its time to say thankyou to Mary Booth for her gigantic contribution to the development of East Grinstead Ladies' journey.  Mary's contribution also included taking the team to its first ever Super Sixes final in 2015, subsequently going a step further with title wins in 2016, 2019 and 2022, while outdoors a second place finish in 2021 as well as playoff semi-finals at Lee Valley in 2019 and 2018 are incredible achievements for a team so new to the premiership.

Reflecting on the past years of experience, the thing that Mary is most proud of is that we have built some success and that people want to return to EG.

Mary's Manager, Tony Crisp will also be stepping down following 7 years supporting Mary and the squad.  Tony's dedication to the team and attention to detail behind the scenes was instrumental in helping the group progress.  Tony's daughter Rachel had been EG Ladies Club Captain, making the connection a truly family affair.  Tony's his prior experience across the hockey circuit ensured that everyone participating at EG was welcomed.

Finally, after two years working with EG Ladies Jason Lee will be stepping down to focus on his career.  Jason has been a fabulous addition to the group helping the team to secure an England Hockey Knockout Cup in Summer 2021, followed by the team's 3rd Indoor title in February 2022 alongside Mary.  An "old boy" of EGHC, Jason had represented the Mens' 1st team from the late 80's to the early 90's.

The trio also led EG to Eurohockey outdoors for the first and second time in the Ladies' squad's history with appearances at Lille in October 2021 and Milan in April 2022.  The latter also met with a club first; a Eurohockey Bronze medal outdoors.
