Day 2 at Euro Hockey Women's Trophy

Day one in Milan at the EuroHockey Women's Club Trophy was a positive one for EG Ladies, opening their matches against Sumchanka from Ukraine.  Benefiting from the experience back in October, when EG had played EuroHockey in Lille, the team started positively and with good composure.

Sophie Bray opened the team's account in the 9th minute but Sumchanka equalised during the second quarter.  The third quarter however saw Ellie Rayer and Autumn Bowden push EG into the lead and although Sumchanka pulled one back at the start of the final quarter, Ellie Rayer notched goals from a penalty corner and a penalty stroke to confirm a 5:2 win for EG.

Following the EG / Sumchanka match, Dragons from Belgium hit double figures in a 10:0 win against the Swiss side Olten, while the day finished with Italian hosts Argentia losing 0:3 to Mannheimer from Germany.
