Happy New Year!
The first half to the season in 2025 proved to be a successful start for EGHC! We saw Junior age-group success in multiple tournaments held at Guildford, Whitgift and Surbiton, and success in the Sussex and Surrey Leagues - our U12 Girls are unbeaten in their Surrey league!
We have also seen our indoor programme go from strength to strength, with three golds and a silver won at the Indoor Hockey UK London Grand Slam back in October, and 2 golds, 1 silver and 1 bronze won at the most recent Indoor Hockey UK Grand Slam up in Nottingham over the Christmas period.
Additionally, our junior socials have never been more popular, with the popular mascot programme, bonfire/ Halloween/ Christmas socials all thoroughly enjoyed by all attendees! The club has also introduced an U6 age group, with these little troublemakers coached and inspired by our Premier League/ International First Team players. We welcome juniors of all abilities!
The Adult section has had one of its most successful starts to the season in living memory, with our Men's 2s, 3s, 4s and Women's 3s and 4s sat top of their league. An additional Men's 5s and Women's 5s team was introduced this season - and availability has been stronger than ever, as both these teams sit near the top of their divisions with a mix of juniors, beginners, and seasoned veterans within their squads. Our Back to Hockey training sessions are for all abilities, with many beginners or those looking to get back into the sports - they are held every Friday and are very popular!
