Biography

Matthew started his hockey career at West Hearts hockey club at the age of 8 where he was coached by his dad. He then moved to Southgate hockey club where he played for 3 years. He then moved school from Berkhamsted to Whitgift where he boarded. This move saw him take his hockey more seriously. After two years at the school he then joined East Grinsted hockey club and became apart of the nags U16 side. At East Grinstead Matt gained his first appearance for the M1s at the age of 15. Additionally, he won 2 indoor national titles in his first stint at the club. He then progressed to university where he studied business management at the university of Nottingham. Durning his time at Nottingham they gained promotion to the prem and captured bucs gold in his final year. Matthew has been apart of all junior nags squads and was recently part of the U21 euros in Belgium last year. Finally, Matthew has returned to East Grinstead and is eager to gain trophies and success both indoor and outdoor.
