Simon joined the club in 2013 and has since become a pillar of the men's first XI. Beginning his hockey journey at just 4 years old with Havant, he quickly climbed the ranks, helping the club win Division 1 in his penultimate year there. He then moved on to Loughborough University, where he achieved two BUCS Golds. A year in Germany saw Simon making strides in the Bundesliga, playing for Blau Weiss Berlin during his placement year.
Internationally, Simon has represented both England and GB under 21s, winning a bronze medal at the youth Olympics. His accomplishments with East Grinstead are equally impressive, having clinched two outdoor league titles and five indoor titles. A born leader, Simon has been the indoor captain since 2016 and took up the mantle of outdoor captain in 2017. Over the years, he's played an impressive 163 outdoor and 111 indoor games for EG, totalling 274 games to date.
Off the pitch, Simon is soon to take on the role of Director of Sport at Farlington School starting from September, demonstrating his passion for sport extends beyond his playing career.
