This week see's the England Hockey Performance Centre Challenge Cup up in Nottingham. The PCCC tournament is the culmination of a season long effort by high-potential young hockey players at the top of the player pathway. They now come together and play with their Performance Centre teammates against the other PC's in the country.
We at East Grinstead Hockey Club are super proud that a number of young players participating in this tournament also pull on the historic blue & white EGHC logo to play their club hockey. We wish them the best of skill and timing at the PCCC tournament this week. Our EG Faithful supporters group need to start planning the chants for these amazing players, who have a strong hockey career ahead of them:
Smash it guys and have fun!
The PCCC will mark the end of the current single system and East Grinstead Hockey Club, who already are one of the few clubs in the country to play at Elite level in the Ladies & Men's Premier Division, are going to play a massive part of the future Talent System, having been awarded one of the first licenses to run our area's England Hockey Talent Academy.
We are very excited about the future for our club and all its aspiring performance level hockey player.
You can keep track of all the action at the PCCC here: England Hockey: Altiusrt

We are delighted to announce our first two Men's signings to East Grinstead Hockey Club for 2022. Having completed his first full season as Head Coach, David Beckett has continued building his squad in impressive style with more announcements to come soon.
"Having met our objectives of last season, reaching the top 6 in the outdoor Premier League and finals night for the Super Sixes Indoor, we want to push on and now become competitive in that top 6. In order to do this we need to keep strengthening our squad and building on the work the squad have been putting in"
David Beckett, Head Coach.
Tom Bean
Tom is familiar with EGHC, having fiercely competed against the club for Canterbury for a number of years. He grew to become one of their stand out players and later on to lead the club as their Captain. At the age of 28 years old he has a wealth of experience and became Division 1's top goalscorer last season with 14 goals. He is a work horse midfielder who has a drag flick in his armory. He studied at Loughborough University and is now working and living in Kent.
Speaking to the club, Tom said "After a few successful years out of the Premier League with Canterbury, I'm looking forward to a new challenge alongside a good group at East Grinstead"
"We are delighted to welcome Tom to the club. We have always been impressed with his performances against us over the years and more importantly his mindset and attitude on and off the pitch" Phillip Coote, Chairman.
Tom Crowson
Tom is a 24 year old forward/midfielder who joins us from Havant. Tom has previously played for Loughborough University, Beeston and like our very own Jamie Wallace, played for Almeerse HC in the Hoofdklasse in Holland. He is a powerful athlete and represented England U21, helping them reach the European Final in 2019 and winning the Sultan of Johor Cup in 2018. He has recently been a part of Great Britain's EDP programme.
Speaking to the club, Tom said "I am excited to be joining such a successful club and do my bit to help push to the next level with an exciting group"
"It's great to have Tom join us, he is a powerful and talented player with a desire to win and this will certainly help us in our next phase" David Beckett, Head Coach.
