EH U18's played very well and dominated possession for large periods of the match. Dylan, Matt and Oli Clift  drove forward from midfield and created chances, while Benedict Smith had another solid game. Adam put in a good shift at sweeper getting in numerous tackles and interceptions. EG went 1-0 up 25 minutes in, with Callum Mitchell flicking into the roof of the net from close range. The score remained 1-0 at half time and the team was confident of more goals in the second half. However a moment of confusion 10 minutes into the second half lead to Teddington putting the ball into an empty net and levelling the score to 1-1.

Balls kept being flashed across the face of Teddington's goal but EG lacked the finishing touch to put them in on the back post. With 10 minutes to go, Dylan Holland restored EG's lead with a well worked corner routine. A quick counter from Teddington led to a corner for them with 5 minutes remaining and another chance to get back in the game. The corner was mistrapped but from the break the ball took a lucky deflection off one of our defenders stick which led to Teddington smashing home a volley on the back post.

This was not the end of the drama as EG kept up the pressure and intensity going forward.  Time was running out and the the group knew they were only going to get one more chance. Up stepped Dylan Holland, whose quick turn and shot from the top of the D into the bottom right corner meant the score was 3-2 to East Grinstead and in the celebrations the final whistle was blown. The road to Lee Valley is on and the U18's next game is to be played on the 11th March.
