EG Ladies 1st Team Return to Outdoor Action with a WIN !

EGHC Ladies 1st Team played Slough away today, Saturday Feb 3rd.  Following the indoor campaign's conclusion just 6 days ago, the ladies needed to make a rapid adjustment to the outdoor format...

This crucial encounter presented an opportunity for EG to rise up the table but against tricky opponents.  Slough, relatively new to the England Hockey Premier League are tough to break down and have a formidable attacking Short Corner capability.  Not having competed in last weekend's Indoor Finals, they will also however have been preparing for the upcoming Indoor Europeans by virtue of their having won the Indoor title last season.

EG opened the scoring through Chloe Palmer but went in level at half time having conceded a penalty stroke.

The second half proved fairly level until the final 12 minutes when Captain Ruth Gordon popped up twice in quick succession to secure the points for EG.

The win takes EG Ladies up to second in the Women's Premier League.  This win proved to be extremely important for the group, given that only two points separate 2nd place from 5th.

The Ladies will next be in action at home on Saturday February 17th hosting Leicester at 1:30pm.
